Proper Squat Technique - Jaime
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness, this is Jamie demonstrating Proper Squat Technique. Standing up, and with a body bar behind her back resting on the top of her shoulders, she's going to bend her legs in a sitting motion. Her feet are just about shoulder wide maybe a little wider, and as she goes down she's going to feel that work in her quads and her glutes. It's important when you do squats to push your heels down into the ground, reaching back with your bottom, each time you stand up bring your hips back in line with your back and shoulders. As you warm up, try to get a little bit lower eventually so that the tops of your thighs are parallel with the floor. You can see as Jamie goes down each time, she's trying to lightly touch the end of the bench, and then she'll stand up pulling her hips back in line with her back and shoulders. This is one of the best exercises to shape and strengthen your quads and your hips, and this works low back.
