Chest & Triceps - Kristi
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness, Kristi demonstrating some upper body exercises to target the chest. Lying back, Kristi has a nine pound body bar in her hand; she starts with elbows bent, keeping the constant elbow angle she is going to lower the bar behind her until upper arms are about parallel, level with her body. By just using the muscles in the chest, she brings the bar back over head and stops over her chest. This is a great exercise to add to your chest routine because it targets the hard to get area of the serratus. Kristi is going to transition to tricep extensions, these are also called skull crushers, but we want to stop the bar just before it hits you in the forehead. This is an exercise you don't want to use to heavy of a weight with. A heady weight can really stress your elbows. While pullovers really accentuate the work in the chest, tricep extensions really accentuate the work in the triceps.
