Proper Kettle Bell Swings - Dianna
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness this is Dianna demonstrating proper kettle bell single arm swings. Dianna's going to get the 10lb kettle bell and she starts by positioning herself with feet about shoulder wide or a little wider. The kettle bell goes straight down in between her feet to start on her midline. She swings that with one arm straight up the center using momentum to carry the weight up to about eye level, a lot of leg, hip, hamstring, and quad in this movement and some low back. The other hand can be behind your back, or on your leg, somewhere out of the way. When you make the transition to the other hand, it will need to come out in front, as you make the transition in mid air seamlessly without interrupting your motion. Once again, the kettle bell will travel directly up the midline, right up the center line. Try to keep yourself in a properly balanced position, evenly with weight on each foot.
