What is Tae Kwon Do?
It is more than just learning a few moves and earning a belt. Tae Kwon Do is a centuries-old martial art system that involves your whole person. Mind and body training is the idea. Learning perfect control, explosive power, composure under stressful situations and dynamic leadership are just a few of the topics that are part of the learning process. The training here is very vigorous which created a great camaraderie between the students. There is a definite structure to the curriculum so you have a good idea where the training is going. And, while the training method is authentic with very old roots, out studio and teaching methods are very up to date. For a virtual tour of our studio click HERE.

Will Tae Kwon Do teach me self-defense?
Yes! We go beyond merely memorizing moved and techniques. Variations and applications of each skill and movement are thoroughly and exhaustively examined and practiced in class. The end result is a body hardened by training, reflexes that are honed by repetition, and an understanding of defensive processes and strategies. Tae Kwon Do is often the "go-to" martial art system for military and law enforcement around the globe. In fact, Master Blevins has instructed military personnel on more than one occasion. How do I get started in Tae Kwon Do?

It can be a little intimidating at first but after just a few minutes in class you will feel like a member of the family. Everyone will be helpful when you are new so do be shy. Just come on over and give it a try. Wear loose and comfortable clothing (like sweats or shorts and a t shirt). Don't worry about shoes because you will be barefoot during class. Master Blevins will keep an eye on you all class long and make sure you feel like you know what is going on during the lesson. Every great journey begins with the first step!
